November 20, 2008

Growing up as a teenager, I am sure that you had some form of acne. Now once you are an adult in the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, or even older you can STILL get acne. Men and women both can get acne, but men can suffer from it more severely then women. Don’t worry though, there are many proven adult acne treatment methods out there, you just have to find the right one that works best for you.

So how does adult acne treatment work?

It works by eliminating future breakouts and it must be used continuously over a period of months. Adult acne treatments are extremely simple to use, the majority of them will require you to follow them exactly how it is written on the treatment itself.

What is the best adult acne treatment on the market?

Well, there are many over the counter adult acne treatments that work well. They will clean out your pours and completely dry out your pimples. There are also prescriptions drugs that eliminate the oil build up in your skin cells and reduce bacteria in your skin. Your acne will begin drying and peeling away revealing healthy skin underneath. There are even some adult acne medications that work by getting rid of blemishes that are caused by acne overnight.

Did you know that birth control pills for women can help eliminate acne? Well, if you didn’t you do now! When you get adult acne please avoid squeezing and popping your acne at all costs. This will only lead to the pimple getting more infected and scaring on your face. When washing your face also, DO NOT SCRUB HARD! This will do more harm than good for your face if your scrub it roughly.

Acne is embarrassing, especially for adults. When people think of adults, a clear face comes to mind. The teenage years are over and so should your acne. Adult acne is no fun and it can even hurt your chances of getting a professional job. Some employers may look down upon you as being “unclean” and not taking care of yourself. They may think that you don’t have proper hygiene and lack the ability to wash your face. It is wrong for employers to think this way, but it is just a face of life. Don’t let acne ruin your life and chances of landing that dream job.

If you develop adult acne I suggest seeking treatment right away at the first signs of it. Whether you want to use over the counter medication or prescription medication is totally up to you. There are excellent treatments for both types of medication you choose to use. In whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck! Fighting Yeast Without a Prescription

November 19, 2008

Candida is an increasing problem that’s happening due to many reasons including: overuse of antibiotics for other ailments, overuse of candida medication, poor diet, and sedentary lifestyle.

Are you prone to candida?

Some people are more prone to candida overgrowth than others but that doesn’t have to sentence them to a never-ending queue at the pharmacy where they’ll have to continuously use creams, suppositories, troaches or oral medication. There are a lot of natural remedies that work as well.

Diet and exercise

Candida grows in specific environments. Some people are more prone than others. Many factors can lend themselves to candida including medicine, poor immune system and to be blunt, it most often occurs within a toxic environment so if you’re constantly consuming junk and don’t eat well or exercise, your body might just be a candida breeding ground. You can find lists of foods online that you can use to starve the candida out of your body. A big one is sugar. Remove the sugar and you can remove the overgrowth of yeast.

Natural remedies for candida

Certain remedies can be used to deal with candida symptoms or killing off the candida bacteria and other remedies can help you keep it at from happening at all. Look into such things as: yogurt douches, oil of oregano, apple cider vinegar, organic coconut oil, tea tree oil and other folk remedies. Some work really well for people and they find that taking these substances can keep their body well regulated and boost their immune system as well.

In terms of exercise, it really can cure a lot of ailments even if it doesn’t sound like much fun. Besides more robust exercises like aerobics, you can also do rebounding which is jumping on a mini trampoline. It burns more calories than jogging and helps you cleanse your lymphatic system plus oxygenates your blood. There are even special models with stability handles for elderly or the unsteady. You can also use infrared saunas to sweat out body toxins and exercise to detoxify your body which can help you rid yourself of excess yeast.

Natural supplements are available and you can also take advantage of acupuncture as well.

Changing your diet, increasing your energy levels and recognizing what triggers candida overgrowth for you specifically is all key in the fight against it. While many people get an infection once and deal with it through medication from the pharmacy, it’s increasingly repetitive for people and research points to it causing many other health problems that you might not even be aware of. Candida involves more than a rash or thrush.

Because you might be plagued today with repeated yeast infections doesn’t mean you have to deal with it forever. Some simple lifestyle changes (that might not seem simple at first but will get easier with time) and healthful eating along with taking certain substances regularly can help those who are most prone to yeast infections either reduce the likelihood of getting the infection, treat symptoms when it does arrive or completely eradicate candida from their lives.

When Drugs Are Just Too Much: An All Natural Solution For Those Already on Too Much Medication

November 19, 2008

How many times have we been warned not to mix drugs and alcohol, because the result can be devastating? So imagine how potentially dangerous it can be mixing two conflicting prescription drugs! As someone who’s taken prescription medication my entire life, I’m frankly amazed that the risks of mixing prescription drugs, doesn’t sound off more alarms.

I have seen so many people suffer endlessly with allergies and headaches but feared taking medicine for their problems because of all the prescription drugs they are on. There are just too many gray areas when it comes to mixing prescription meds and we just don’t know all the consequences related to them.

Everyone should know the risks of using multiple drugs and today more than ever, it is important to know what you are taking and how it can affect your body. Too often, taking more than one medication can conflict with one another causing a drug interaction. Drug Interactions occur when two or more drugs react with each other.

Here are a few things you should know about DI’s:

• Interacting drugs can cause a medication to become less effective

• They can cause unexpected or undocumented side effects

• Can increase the action of a particular drug

• More importantly, drug interactions can cause serious illness and sometimes even death.

It is so important to understand the implications of drug interactions, and having to sacrifice relief for allergies or headache because you are on prescription drugs is agonizing to say the least. This is especially a problem if you are:

• Currently on pain medication

• Have a weak immune system

• Have allergic drug reactions

• Are post surgical

All Natural Solutions Are Available:

Seeing so many of my friends put at risk because of the numerous medications they were on, became one more reason I actively pursued alternative treatments for allergy and headache sufferers. My goal was to find all natural products that could be used safely, and CONCURRENTLY with other medications, but they had to be fast and effective.

I found that capsaicin, a main ingredient in Sinol nasal spray, is effective for dilating constricting blood vessels and aiding in pain control. Other natural ingredients like eucalyptus and rosemary are also key components in fighting bacteria and easing nasal congestion. Using medicines with all natural ingredients can be a life saver if you are currently taking one or more medications, and suffer with:

• Migraine headaches

• Chronic, cluster, tension and menstrual headaches

• Allergies

• Sinus/sinusitis

You no longer have to sacrifice your allergy and headache relief, because natural choices are available, and they are just as fast and effective as their prescription counterparts. As Sinol’s Customer Advocate, I look forward to sharing the latest news and tips on all natural ways to cure your allergy and headache problems. Now is the Time to Book Your Annual Flu Shot

November 19, 2008

If you are involved on the front lines of medical care – for example a person working in a nursing home, or are a “first responder” in an ambulance or fire department staff then it’s a good idea to get a flu shot for the coming winter. It goes without saying that those in the health care field – be they doctors , nurses or other health care field staff and employees should also avail themselves to the “flu shot” as well. Those who get the shot put themselves in a defensive position of building a defensive wall against the spread of the deadly flu.

Who else are good candidates to consider they ready to get a flu shot? First those aged over 65 and their household and daily contacts. Next are those who live in personal care homes or other chronic care facilities. Alongside this group are young toddlers between the ages of 6 months and 23 months. Lastly pregnant women, as well as their contacts should get a flu shot.

Why all this concern over the ordinary “flu”? Flu, to the wrong groups – can be deadly. To those who are most susceptible – especially the elderly contracting influenza can result in severe complications such as pneumonia, hospitalization and even death. Every year 10’s of thousands of ordinary Americans die from complications of the standard flu. Again it should be noted that by far the largest and most susceptible group of those who succumb to serious effects of influenza are by and large the elderly.

It can be said that although the effects of influenza “the flu” , can be devastating , most devastating, that fortunately much of the problems associated with the illness can indeed by prevented. The flu shot by far, to this date, is the best defense. If you are in a high risk group that is deemed chosen to receive the flu shot – then now, not later , not tomorrow is the best time to schedule your vaccination. Why wait for spring as they say. It can be said that influenza vaccines have been around and been used for a long time span now. Influenza vaccines are considered safe. The benefits far outweigh any risks inherent.

Influenza generally spreads from person to person mainly by sneezing, coughing and other direct physical contacts. Symptoms include fever and chills, cough, headaches, muscle aches, runny nose, sore throat and even exhaustion.

It can be best said that the flu – influenza is so easy to catch and so easy to spread to those around you and those that you love. In seniors, young children and people with chronic ongoing breathing problems and diseases like asthma and chronic bronchitis then the flu is a real serious hit and concern not to be taken lightly or flippantly. For these people flu is a real danger – a simple run of the mill malady which for them can be more than downright serious. The flu shot is by far the best and even easiest defense against the flu – for yourself, for those around you and those that you love.

Now is the time to schedule your flu shot. Why wait for spring?

Chinese Herbal Remedies For Stress Relief

November 16, 2008

In modern life, stress is something we must deal with on an almost daily basis. Whether we’re worried about work, family, finances or major calamities such as terrorism and Global Warming, there are certainly ample reasons to be stressed. It’s also an established fact that medications for dealing with that stress can be both expensive and have long-term negative side effects. So, what are the alternatives? Thankfully there are plenty of useful herbs for stress relief.

Try a Natural Remedy:

Herbal stress relief remedies like any other medication is not a quick fix. To obtain optimum benefit from them they need to be taken over several months however in the long run you will see that they are far better than pharmaceuticals.

First there is Valerian; it will help you to sleep, and it prevents panic attacks from overwhelming you. Then there are Hops (an ingredient in beer), which eases stress, nervousness and restlessness. A rather odd side-effect of hops is that they decrease your desire for alcohol!

You have probably quite often heard someone suggest a nice cup of tea to help relax you. Well, in the case of Chamomile they are correct as it is a very gentle stress reliever and it also helps you to relax. Then there is green tea which is a great stress reliever as it contains Theanine which helps you to relax and is a natural mild tranquilizer.

Ginseng does an excellent job at reducing stress and it also fights off mental fatigue, reduces irritability, and improves the nervous system.

Various members of the mint family are known to be natural stress reducers. Lemon balm has quite a calming effect as it reduces mood swings and also helps with better sleep.

You might find this one a bit odd to be on a list of herbal stress relief for humans however catnip is quite effective in reducing stress and helping you stay calm.

Ashwagandha is something many people won’t have heard of but it’s a great herbal remedy for helping you to deal with fatigue and it also works as an anti-inflammatory. When you’re stressed, you can sometimes suffer inflammation throughout your body therefore Ashwagandha offers quite holistic herbal stress relief. Keeping inflammation under control can also help you to feel less stressed.

In the Far East natural herbal remedies have been used for centuries. Of all things, the bark from a Cork tree has been long known to help relieve stress. Often it is combined with Magnolia Officinalis bark which helps with anxiety. Next, from Europe, Goldenroot (also known as Roseroot) is very good at easing the symptoms of depression and is also used as a mild sedative. As a side benefit, it helps to relieve fatigue.

Of course, not all herbal stress relief is confined to Europe and Asia. Out among the Polynesians of the Pacific is the Kava Kava root.

For centuries, they have used it as a means of reducing stress and for simple relaxation. Another excellent means of calming your nerves and reducing worry is to take Vitexin. Vitexin is extracted from the Passion Flower and is now sold as a herbal remedy. One little caveat on Vitexin, be sure any pills you buy are between three and four percent Vitexin as this is the recommended dose.

As you can see there is quite a choice when it comes to herbal stress relief remedies no matter how it may manifests in physical and mental symptoms. Simply follow the recommended dosage for any of the herbal stress remedies and you will quickly find that they are quite worthwhile.

How to Prevent Acne

November 15, 2008

The best acne control is a skin care routine. In order to clear up acne and prevent future breakouts a person needs to develop a skin care routine that can get to the root of the problem. A person should look at their skin care routine as a process. They need to first develop a routine and then follow it daily.

The first step in a skin care routine should be cleansing the skin. It is recommended to clean the skin twice a day, usually morning and night. The cleanser can be store bought or homemade. Any store bought cleanser should be a mild formula without fragrance or other irritating additives. The more pure the product, the less chance it will irritate skin, which can cause acne.

The next step in a cleansing routine should be exfoliating. Exfoliating is an important step because acne is caused by debris building up in pores. Most of the debris is dead skin cells. Exfoliating helps to get rid of dead skin cells. Exfoliating may seem to be rough on the skin, but it is actually very beneficial. A person should use a fine exfoliant. Baking soda or brown sugar are two very good natural exfoliants.

You have to remember that what you eat, your diet, affects the condition of your skin plus your overall health. Try and keep to a balanced diet and you will have a better chance against preventing your acne and having better health.

Try and eat plenty of fruit, plus ensure that you hace the correct multivitamins, whether it be through your food or in tablet form.

Try and limit your intake of coffee and if you are a smoker please try and cut down. If possible try and stop, but I know how hard that can be. But it will be worth it.

A simple tip to implement immediately is to drink plenty of water, if you are not doing this already. The recommended daily intake is six to eight glasses per day. It will hydrate your skin and keep in great condition. In addition it helps to remove the build up of toxins in your body and that benefits you in overall health

Finally, a person needs to spot treat any existing acne. This can be done with over the counter products or home made products. Over the counter products kills bacteria, but can also be drying to skin so a person should use care with them and always follow the directions. Home made products are usually less harmful to skin, like tomatoes or honey mixed with cinnamon.

Having a good skin care routine helps to prevent and clear up acne. Good acne control is all about keeping the skin clean and killing bacteria. A good acne control skin care routine will include cleansing, exfoliating and spot treating.

Enlarged Prostrate Treatment and Symptoms

November 15, 2008

An enlarged prostrate is very common in men over the age of 50. With that being said, younger men may suffer but it is not quite as common. If you are a man it is very important that you are familiar with enlarged prostrate treatment and symptoms. This way if you begin to suffer from any problems you will be able to immediately get it checked out by a doctor. If you do not get checked out you may end up in a worse position. Many of the symptoms of an enlarged prostrate are the same as the ones associated with prostrate cancer.

An enlarged prostrate is also known in the medical world as benign prostatic hyperplasia. They are the same condition, and come with the same treatment options and symptoms.

There are a few common symptoms that go along with having an enlarged prostrate. Like mentioned above, many of them are the same as prostrate cancer so it is very important to keep a close eye on them with the assistance of a doctor. Symptoms include:

1. The inability to star the urination flow.

2. A weak stream of urine with difficulty maintaining it for the appropriate amount of time.

3. Stopping and starting during urination.

4. Not being able to urinate, or having to strain to do so.

5. Pain during urination.

6. Frequent urination during the night time hours.

Of course these are only a few of the symptoms that go along with an enlarged prostrate. There are several more, but these are the ones that are most common, and come up in the majority of men that are suffering.

There are several treatments that you can look into if you have an enlarged prostrate. The first thing that you will want to do is speak with your doctor. He or she will be able to tell you what the best option is, and how you should move forward.

In most cases, an enlarged prostrate can be treated with medication. There are several medications that your doctor can prescribe, with each one offering its own level of benefits as well as side effects.

In addition to medication, the removal of the prostrate gland via surgery is also an option. This is something that most doctors and patients want to avoid if possible due to the complications that could occur.

If you know about enlarged prostrate treatment and symptoms you will be able to catch the problem in its early stages. The most important thing to remember is that an enlarged prostrate often times has the same symptoms as cancer. So the first time symptoms arise, it is advised to see a doctor right away to get a proper diagnosis.

How to Avoid Acne - The 3 Don’ts

November 15, 2008

If you regularly have bouts of acne breakouts, you need to know the things that you should not do in order to avoid the breakouts. Sometimes, it’s the little things that you do that actually cause the acne. You probably have your own practices that are actually detrimental to your skin’s health. Of course, what might cause acne to one may not necessarily trigger breakout to another. However, there are things that all people must do if they want to avoid acne breakouts. These rules apply to everyone regardless of probable causes of acne.

1. Do Not Keep Your Hands on Your Face

It’s tempting to touch your face especially if you have noticed a pimple coming out. People have this tendency to constantly check, poke and even prick at everything on their face. If you don’t need to touch your face, don’t! If you need to, make sure that you have thoroughly washed your hands clean before you touch your face. Your hands can cause the pimples since you could transfer dirt, bacteria and oil from your hands to your face which then causes acne.

People are fond of pricking at inflammations. If you need to drain pus, you should know how to properly drain it and then make sure to disinfect the area so the pus won’t spread onto neighboring pores.

Adopting clean hand habits will ensure that you won’t transfer dirt to your face in case you accidentally touch your face. Wash your hands after every meal or snack and especially if you’ve been using your computer keyboard. Make sure that your fingernails are clean too. Dirt and bacteria can be transferred from your nails to your face if you unthinkingly scratch your face with dirty nails. If you need to clean your face, use a handkerchief, a tissue paper or a blotting paper.

2. Do Not Use Harsh Chemicals on Your Skin

Harsh chemicals are primary causes of acne. Make sure that you use the gentlest or the mildest cleansers, astringents, washes, soap and shampoo. Avoid mixing or using a lot of products. One moisturizer is enough or one type of gentle cleanser will do. Do not get two or more cleansers or more moisturizers and astringents of different brand. Too many chemicals will harm your skin.

Think “baby-soft skin”. Don’t stop choosing products that are hypoallergenic and mild just because you’re 38 years old! Your skin needs the gentlest formulas as much as a baby skin needs it. Hypoallergenic products are ideal when you’re choosing skin lotions, facial masks or scrubs and exfoliating creams. Hypoallergenic products usually undergo countless laboratory test to be certified.

3. Do Not Wash Your Skin Frequently

Yes, you probably heard that you need to wash your skin regularly. The operative word, however, is “regularly”. You should at least wash your face twice a day. Washing your face five times or more in a day is going overboard. Too much washing will aggravate your acne if you already have one. It will irritate your skin and it could cause acne.

Take Back Control of Your Allergies

November 15, 2008

If you are one of the millions of allergy sufferers there is no reason you have to let those pesky allergy’s control your life! Prescription medications can be expensive, especially to those who aren’t covered under an insurance plan. And how about people who are looking for an all natural alternative to allergy relief?

Dust, pollen and pet dander are all common allergens, but unfortunately it is possible to be allergic to almost anything ranging from chlorine to certain kinds of perfumes. An allergic reaction can be caused from any form of contact with the allergen. The most prominent of these allergies is household dust allergies. But what is present in dust that causes reactions? The prime ingredients in house dust that causes reactions in most people are molds, pet and human dander, and cockroach waste. However, most of the sneezing and sniffling is caused by the common household dust mite. The dust mite is microscopic and spider-like in appearance. It is found mostly in carpets, mattresses and fabric covered furniture. The dust mite thrives in warm and humid conditions and feed mostly on human skin! The waste products produced by mites can cause extreme allergic reactions long after the creature is dead. This is the most important reason to throw out that old pillow you love so much!

There are three main seasons that cause discomfort to people afflicted with allergies-spring, summer and fall. Spring is when pollen is produced by trees. Pollens are small egg-shaped powdery grains that are released from flowering plants and carried by the wind or insects. Pollens spread by the wind are the main culprit for those who are afflicted with seasonal allergies. Seasonal allergies can start in January depending on climate and location, and are a result of pollen from trees. Common allergen producing trees are oak, olive, elm ash, birch, hickory, poplar, sycamore, maple, walnut and cypress.

Summer allergies are mostly caused by grass pollen because it is the highest at this time of the year. But grass pollen is not limited to only summer since you mow your lawn most of the year, which causes the pollens to spread farther. There are two types of grasses that cause reactions, northern and southern grasses. Northern grasses are located in colder climates, while southern grasses are present in warmer climates. Fall Allergies are mostly caused by weed pollens. Some examples of allergy inducing weeds are ragweed, sagebrush, pigweed, tumbleweed and cocklebur. Depending on what part of the world you live in certain trees can pollinate in the fall as well.

If you are one of the many people afflicted with seasonal, indoor or outdoor allergies there is a product available that contains only Natural ingredients. Bell Allergy Relief Master Herbalist Series is an all natural allergy prescription free supplement! The primary ingredients are rosemarinic acid, basil, sage, mint, perilla, lobelia, quercetin, and rosemary. So try Bell Allergy Relief and say goodbye to those miserable allergies!
