Personal Trainer – a Better Source of Fitness Knowledge Than DVDs
February 28, 2010
The world today is obsessed with having a healthy body and a pleasing personality. People opt for all sorts of options for maintaining fitness like going to a gym, hiring a personal trainer, dieting and abstinence from certain fattening foods. Though such methods are not proven to be successful in fortifying your health, they have become a rage amongst the youth of today, as everyone is in a mad race to look good and better than the people around them. What people do not realize is that due to this competition to look good, they are adopting wrong methods of weight loss or muscle development which will harm their body in the long run.
However, taking advantage of the craze for fitness, the market today is flooded with several bogus equipments, dietary supplements, diet courses, exercise regimes and exercise DVDs. There are various equipments like bench press equipment, ab-builders, tummy flatteners, sauna equipment, home-gyms etc which have flooded the market. These products are just taking advantage of the innocent and obsessed consumer and selling them worthless products with tall promises of health maintenance. Models and personal trainers who have been working out for years to develop their wonderful body will appear in television commercials and attribute their success to the product they endorse and brag about its wonderful effects and why you should order the same as soon as possible. However, these products are far from reality and millions of people around the world have not realized the fallacy of these tall claims by such fraudulent companies.
But the most fraudulent of such products are undoubtedly the exercise DVDs. These DVDs claim that by watching various personal trainers on your television screen and emulating their exercises, we can develop a body as toned as sculpted as their own. However, there is little truth in these claims. Exercise is not a simple activity; it is a science and has various aspects to be taken care of for your body to actually gain any advantage due to exercising. Improper usage of exercising techniques can lead to damage to the muscles and ligaments of our body in varying nature. This fact is mentioned in the DVDs but their focus is always on emphasizing how important and useful their product is.
So, you must be thinking how personal trainers are better than these DVD packages? Well the simple answer to this lies in the fact that the trainer will give you personal attention during your exercise. You may easily imitate the exercises shown in the DVD, but every human body has different ailments and some exercises may prove to be harmful for some humans with certain specific problems. In this case, the DVD cannot advise you a modification in the exercise while a real person will not only warn you about the aftereffects of the exercise but also suggest changes in a way which will not be harmful to the body.
Another aspect of these exercise DVDs is that you do not know if the exercises demonstrated, are actually of any good use. Generally, the personal trainers in gyms and health clubs are certified experts in exercise and have years of experience in the health industry. However, such data about the people who make these DVDs is not available. The customer can never know if the makers of the DVD are actually certified experts and know what they are doing.
In essence, it is for the betterment of your lives that you should make the active choice of not buying these worthless exercise DVDs. Real people and personal trainers shall give your body the expertise that these DVDs shall never achieve. Opt for the best and rely only on certified fitness instructors who can give your personal attention.

Advantages of Hiring a Personal Trainer
February 28, 2010
If you are a person who is longing to get fit, it is a fine idea to avail yourself of the services of a good personal trainer. Every once in a while whole new ways of getting fit and exercise are being evolved. It is very difficult to keep abreast of all these new ways unless you have a trainer. Of course you have to spend a little more money to go for a trainer, but it will be worth the effort in terms of your lifestyle and health.
A personal trainer can devise new kinds of exercise to achieve your fitness goals. Suppose you haven’t been to a gym for sometime or your shape is not what you want it to be, your trainer can recommend new exercise regimes. For instance, it has become quite the in thing to use weights and exercise balls. Yoga is also getting increasingly popular because it is an excellent way to maintain physical health. There might be a whole lot of exercise routines about which you know next to nothing. Your personal trainer has all these storehouse of knowledge at his fingertips which he can make use of, to make you physically fit. He/she can relieve the monotony of doing the same kind of exercises day in and day out and it will do more harm than good. If you happen have an aptitude to a particular sport, he can recognize the possibilities your personal trainer can spot them and plan your exercise routine in such a way that you can be quite good at that sport. Under the circumstances, your trainer can even take you to an altogether new career or hobby.
A personal trainer is also your dietrician and can advise you as to what type of diet will be good for you and suits your own fitness goals. He can prescribe exercise routines for you to do at home to augment his/her instruction. A trainer can also evaluate whether you can stop exercising due to an injury or the like and can guide you to a doctor or a specialist so that you recover from the injury in the shortest time possible. The trainer can recommend other kinds of instruction like ice skating, aerobics etc, so that your performance as a whole can be enhanced.
A good personal trainer will change your fitness program regularly. In this way, your body can adjust itself to the change instead of letting it become lazy and complacent. This is exactly where a personal trainer can help you. Since your trainer is well trained and have a good knowledge of the human body and what makes it tick, he/she can keep changing your exercise regimen in such a way that it goes on challenging your body and improve it by leaps and bounds.
One important thing that your personal trainer can do for you is to prepare a workout routine that is tailor made to achieve your fitness goals. He/she can give you the proper direction to your whole fitness program and can correct any possible slip-ups either in function or form. This will also enable you to avoid any physical injury that can happen during the process. Your trainer will help you push your body to it limits so that you have strong rippling muscles, a stronger heart and a taut and wiry body. Evidently, a trainer doesn’t believe in wasting your time on workouts that are of no benefit to you.
By giving you the necessary motivation, your personal trainer will do all that can be done to encourage you to carry on even when you feel like throwing in the towel and quit the whole exercise. Your trainer won’t let you do this and when all is said and done and the payoff is in the air you’ll feel that it was worth every moment of the effort.

Types of Acne and Their Causes
February 27, 2010
Acne is a common inflammatory disease of the skin. The scientific term for this skin disease is acne vulagaris. Usually, acne breakouts occur when the skin structure that includes the hair follicle and sebaceous glands, known as the pilosebaceous units, goes through changes because of hormones or other reasons. Symptoms usually include pimples, spots, and zits. The term acne is of Greek origin, and is a combination of the words “acme”, which means “skin eruption” and “bacne” or “backne” which is a type of acne that shows up on the back instead of the face.
Acne is commonly found in pubescent people, or teens. It is more common in Western societies, possibly because of a genetic disposition to the condition. However, people of all races and ages can develop this skin condition. For teenagers, acne is considered the body’s way of reacting to hormones in the body, as during this age the different hormones are fluctuating wildly. These fluctuations tend to level out over time, so for many people the acne breakouts will decrease or disappear as they enter their 20s. However, not everyone is so lucky.
It is impossible to predict how long it will take acne to disappear for an individual. Nearly everyone will deal with acne at some point during their lifetime. Some people continue to have acne as adults, especially women. In women, it can be aggravated by the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, or changes in birth control medication, since all of these factors affect the hormone balance of the body.
There are several types of acne. Here is a look at some of the more common types and their causes.
Acne vulgaris is the type of acne commonly seen in teenagers. It starts around puberty, and will usually be found on the face, shoulders, and/or chest.
Acne rosacea is more often found in adults. This type of acne appears as a red rash that is localized to the patient’s face.
Acne keloidalis nuchae is also known as pseudofollicultis nuchae. This acne rash is a result of irritation caused by shaving.
Acne conglobata is also known as hidraenitis suppurative. This type of acne is actually abscesses and boils on the sweat glands and hair follicles. You will generally find this in the armpits, groin, and buttocks, though some women will also get it under the breasts. In its extreme form, this type of acne is known as acne fulminas.
Comedogenic cosmetics can clog pores and bring about acne breakouts. It can sometimes be avoided by wearing non-pores clogging formulations.
Acne medicamentosa is a form of acne caused in response to a change in medication.
Baby acne is a rash commonly seen on newborns. It is generally found on the cheeks, chin, and forehead and will clear up on its own.
Chloracne is a rash that is caused due to the exposure of a person to chlorinated hydrocarbons.
In most cases, only your dermatologist will be able to positively identify the type of acne that you have, as well as the best treatment for it.
The first step to getting rid of acne is to understand what it is. There are many types of acne and knowing the type you have will help you find the best acne treatment for you. Visit www.AcnePimpleTips.com to learn more about acne and ways of getting rid of acne.
Features of a Solid Workout Session
February 27, 2010
The purpose of a good workout session should be to give all of your muscles, ligaments and tendons a good stretch and some varied activity. Often if you perform the work out to music this enhances your sense of rhythm, and the tone of the music can raise your heartbeat, people are often more relaxed and in tune with their bodies when doing exercise routines to music. Sustained moves for stretching, and sustained tempo for more active movements all make for a good cardio vascular workout. To enhance your performance even more you can try using resistance in the form of wrist or ankle weights, which guarantee you will need to put the extra effort in to overcome the weights.
Many people will like to have an exercise routine that they can learn exactly, so that after a while the moves are made automatically, you don’t have to count or to think what you are doing – the workout will leave you feeling more exercised and relaxed if you don’t have to remember each step.
When looking for a good workout session at a gym, select one that has a good warm up session, one which includes a lot of stretching to ensure that your body is totally flexible and ready for action before you start on the core section which may include calisthenics, using machines, or aerobics, all of which you should be thoroughly warmed up for before starting, otherwise you are at risk of damaging muscles.
Also necessary is to have a program with a good cool down period. This will allow your heart rate and breathing to return to normal levels before you stop your exercise. It is not good for your circulation if you simply stop in the middle of an exercise as this can affect the whole equilibrium of your body and lead to disorders of your circulation. The cool down is also important as it is during this period that many toxins are expelled from the system.
Your instructor should demonstrate a good working knowledge of the body and how it functions during exercising, routines should be explicit and clear, and your trainer should give clear instructions at all times as to what is expected of you. The instructor needs to follow every students’ progress and should really take the time to correct any student who is not doing the exercises properly. A good workout session should be challenging without being overly demanding with flexibility that all levels of skill within the group can still find a level to perform at without being left behind by the group. Numbers should be limited so that everyone can get the attention that they need and so that there is no feeling of being over crowded in the room.
If you are working from home at your workout session and are using a video or dvd, the same considerations apply, although you won’t get the benefit of personal tuition, you will be able to view all moves, frame by single frame, so that you can see how the moves are made up.

What Good Does Exercise Do For Your Body
February 27, 2010
A famous author once said that every time he felt the urge to exercise, he would simply lie down on the sofa until it passed. Indeed, some people seem to thrive well enough on a lifestyle that seems to include no exercise at all, except the lifting of utensils to eat and glasses or cups to drink from. The reality for such people is that they have probably been able to reach a balance between the exercise that they do and their food intake, so that they are neither extremely thin or too fat, and seem to be able to manage to do whatever interests them in life. The reality is that bodies thrive on exercise and exercise keeps you feeling healthy, and even a moderate walk around the block will stimulate your circulation, promote good digestion and help to shake off a sluggish mood.
Even though people may feel perfectly happy doing absolutely no exercise at all, settling down to watch television after a hard days’ work at the office, they can without realizing it, be selling themselves somewhat short on what life’s potential is all about. Some people think they do no exercise at all, until you find that they have helped with their neighbor’s shopping, collected the children from school, and brought in and ironed the washing, while keeping an eye on the tea. In fact both these types of “non exercisers” could put a spark into their life, and perhaps a sparkle in their eye by looking at some form of exercise program that will take them out of their comfort zone.
It may not be until the car breaks down and he has to walk to the bus that your average couch potato will actually realize the dismal low to which his overall level of fitness has sunk. It may not be until the busy housewife takes a break for some low key stretches and bends, or takes a walk round the park with a friend that she will realize that exercise can be relaxing and that exercise can be fun.
Without proper exercise you may age prematurely, suffer from hypertension, lack flexibility and tone in your muscles, tire easily or feel chronically exhausted, have heart or lower back problems, and tend to put on weight more easily. Vague feelings of depression may accompany a lifestyle that is totally without any form of physical exercise. If you lead a sedentary life and have some doubts about your fitness, or feel frazzled from running around all day completing endless chores, and would like to make a change, there are many easy options available to extend you just a bit into the experience of exercise for fitness, fun and pleasure. You could make a start by walking to your local community centre to see what is on offer there. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step – and you are stepping in the right direction for a healthy and more productive lifestyle when you set out to get yourself fit.

Feeling the Burn For a Satisfying Workout
February 27, 2010
For some people, unless they have completed a work out that they feel has really challenged them, they will feel slightly depressed as if they have not done enough and feel dissatisfied. This is not a problem, you can simply make sure that you work a bit harder next time, unless you find that in order to get satisfaction, you are having to increase your hours of exercise, or exercise rate to uncomfortable extremes. You can read about “gym junkies” who feel compelled to go to the gym each day or for many hours a week, and if for any reason they are unable to go, will find that they become cross and agitated.
Usually, people in this predicament have some underlying worry or care that they don’t particularly want to have to deal with and so working out in the gym effectively becomes a tension reducer much like taking medicine, and the reality is that using work outs in the gym for this purpose can become addictive.
When the body is subjected to stress, such as when it is faced with a need to perform extreme physical exercise it will pour out chemicals into the system which help to pacify the symptoms of stress and help the body to sustain the effort. The result is that as people accustom themselves to higher and higher levels of performance induced stress, so they also are rewarded by this sudden rush of chemicals that kicks in to relieve symptoms of pain, and gives the body the boost it needs to go the extra mile. This effect is sometimes called a runner’s high and many people regard it as being a good thing to achieve.
Very likely this supportive function does of itself no damage at all, but it might enable a person who otherwise might feel exhausted to push themselves that bit further. If this happens occasionally, it probably doesn’t matter too much, provided that the person concerned habitually gets plenty of rest and nutritious food. However, warning bells might sound if a person finds themselves working to achieve this runners’ high, unsupported by proper food, at the expense of adequate rest.
There is a question as to whether the burning sensation that you feel when working a muscle hard is merely part of a chemical process or represents damage to the muscle tissue caused by overstrain. The whole question of what if any level of pain, experienced in the process of physical exercise can be considered to be a good or acceptable thing certainly causes divided opinions. Some feel that unless they have felt the “burn” that they haven’t exercised enough, others take the alternate view, that you should be able to carry on a normal conversation while engaged at any level of physical exercise.
As in many things, people should know for themselves with what level of exercise they feel most comfortable. You should not be carried out on a stretcher, but on the other hand carrying on a conversation from opposite ends of the tennis court might by some be considered detrimental to the game.

What the Best Wrinkle Remover Can Do For You
February 27, 2010
If one would spend a little more time and be more cautious when it comes to choosing the best products, then a high quality wrinkle remover is just around the bend. Today a lot of profit is being made from simply selling wrinkle remover creams that are aimed at removal of sun damage and in curing other skin abnormalities. Due to a wide variety of products to choose from, a lot of people get confused and misled by marketing strategies. Let us tackle what to find for in every quality wrinkle remover cream.
The best wrinkle remover cream will perhaps contain of course the best anti-aging formulas, since these are targeted to treat the entire face. These should reduce the appearance of wrinkles, conceal crow’s feet, and bring back moisture to the skin. Some of the best wrinkle remover creams promote production of collagen fulfilling their promises of getting results within ten days. These promises are what prompts the buyers to consider them above the rest in the treatment of signs of aging.
Along with wrinkles come the rest of the signs of aging, even showing perhaps these signs prior to the rest of the facial area: the eyes. This is the next stop. A quality wrinkle remover cream, serum or gel can be used to treat crow’s feet around the eyes, nasty dark circles, eye wrinkles, sun damage, sagging skin, as well as puffiness and eye bags.
Remember, wrinkle remover creams do not choose it own circle – it is for everyone. Most of us know someone who might need a little help from wrinkle remover creams. These creams ought to be our eyes’ best friend, since they are very useful and can enable the skin to put on a more luminous appearance when used day by day. If they contain just the right ingredients, then it is not impossible to look fresh and healthy.
Aside from the eyes, do not neglect the importance of making your neck look good. Your neck also needs the powerful wrinkle remover cream. Most often people forget that if the neck looks saggy, then unevenness is fostered and can instead make people think second thoughts (if you are really young or not). It is sad that most people care less for their neck, when it is really that part of the body that completes the puzzle of looking good and feeling good. It is sadder to think that a lot of people spend a lot on their face, but they leave out the neck area, just letting it wrinkle away on its own. You need to give a little more attention to your neck to complete a youthful look. When the neck is wrinkled, then the aging process is definitely not concealed. It can then look wrinkled, saggy, and to put it straight – nasty. So find a wrinkle remover cream that will work best for the skin under your neck. It is not as thin as that of the eye area, so you might need products with a higher concentration that will penetrate the skin and stimulate production of collagen and elastin, thereby eliminating wrinkles.

Organizing Your Exercise Routine and Weight Loss Diet
February 27, 2010
Finding a suitable exercise program to go with your weight loss diet can be a challenge but when all have been considered, for various reasons nothing beats a floor-based workout routine. Whether you go to a gym or set aside floor space at home, similar benefits will apply. First you can decide whether to exercise in the morning which suits some people, or after work, or in the mid afternoon when the children are off your hands. A regular time is best, to add to your sense of routine. Your choice of time may depend upon whether you find the exercise to be relaxing before going to bed, or highly stimulating to make you active all the day. At home you may find music to exercise by, or a special workout video, and at the gym you will have an instructor. Choose one who gives clear instructions and allows plenty of time for warm up and cool down. At home, make sure that you cannot be seen from outside the house, and turn off your telephone – you will need to avoid interruptions if you want your workout to be a success. Also at home, and at the gym, make sure that you have enough clear space around you to do your exercises properly. Test the space that you will need before you get carried away with your exercises and end up banging your elbow on the cupboard door, or hitting your neighbor on the jaw.
Another thing that you will need whether at home or in the gym is a personal rubber exercise mat so that you will have a comfortable base to work from, which you can always cover with a towel, depending upon which types of exercise you are doing. Another accessory is to have a large full length mirror, such as you will find in a gym – this is not so much for posing around, but for checking that your posture is right and that you are making your moves correctly.
Something that may be overlooked is to buy yourself a stylish outfit specially for your workout session, this has great psychological advantages in making you look and feel the part, and chances are you will perform better than when wearing tired and faded clothes.
The benefits of a floor based workout routine is that either you don’t have to travel, or else know exactly how long it will take you to get there, the routine can be lengthened or shortened to suit your available time and you can adjust how hard you work out during the time of the session. The most important thing is to set aside the time and to make sure that you do your routines every day, or whatever times you have set down to do them.
Be prepared for a slow start as you get used to the movements and learn the routines, unless you have natural aptitude it can take some time to learn and integrate all of the movements in a workout routine.

Creating an Exercise Program That is Right For You
February 27, 2010
Sometimes you know that you need to exercise more, but excuses just keep happening – you have to work back late this week, you haven’t got the time. The nagging thought gets pushed firmly to the back of your mind and even when you receive an invitation to play something like golf or tennis, you start to make excuses again – which may relate more to your level of skill, your ability to meet the fees or genuine lack of time. When you think of all the various commitments which prevent you from taking regular exercise, you will realize that if exercise is to get some priority, then you will need to make a commitment to that. Sometimes all you feel like doing after completing endless chores is to relax by sitting down or sleeping, eating a large meal and or having a couple of drinks, which you know is not the best thing for you to do, but you feel too exhausted to do anything else. More so than ever before, people can find their working and social life just does not include any proper exercise, and an overload of stress, tension, tedium and pressure. It is made easy, and it is too easy to take refuge in chemical substances, caffeine, cigarettes, alcohol, electronic entertainments and even to take pills that will help you to get to sleep – a circular pattern of stress and de-stress that gradually takes its toll on your body.
Prioritizing a healthy exercise program can be a big step to take, but it can be done by anyone no matter how ingrained your dependence upon unhealthy habits may be. You will need to find something to do which allows you to take time out from your usual lifestyle, and to select something which has enough challenge in it, and interests you enough so that you do not regard your fitness program as a “must do, get done” chore so that you can get back to your normal habits as soon as possible.
For some people, doing solo exercise suits best, whether at home or at a gym, or running round the park, for others joining a group makes sense, as they work better with others to encourage and motivate them, some will like to become part of a team, and some might respond well to a personal trainer.
Whatever your age or level of fitness, it is a good idea to buy a new outfit for your sporting endeavor. Looking the part and looking good, and wearing the proper style of clothing for your chosen exercise improves confidence, can enhance performance and provides that extra sense of doing something special for yourself. Never feel embarrassed by lack of skill or training, or that you may feel out of shape, most people find that with a minimum of effort, they can learn the basics of any new exercise program and muscles respond well when put into harness. Try not to do too much too soon and soon you will be rewarded with a lifestyle that feels more balanced.

Surviving Your Weight Loss Exercise Program
February 27, 2010
If you are new to exercise and have decided to start a fitness regime in order to lose some weight, you may find that although calories are being burned, losing weight you ain’t. Until you know more about it, this may cause you some concern.
When you first start to exercise, your muscles will often swell, and make your clothes feel tight, the opposite of what you intended, but it usually settles down after a few sessions as your muscles attune to the new demands.
Then to your horror upon the scales you find that your weight has increased but don’t panic because that is simply your muscles increasing in genuine bulk as they build up with your exercise routines. Weight loss will be occurring, and body fat will be lost, but you might find that your weight goes up and down which might be due to water being lost and replaced. What you need to focus on, more than loss of weight, is a general reduction in your size, which you can check with a measuring tape. Although at first you won’t lose too much weight you will start to take on a new shape.
The muscles may also become a little stiff and sore, but it is necessary to work through this and maintain your exercise program, and relief can be obtained by soaking in a tub and adding mineral salts to the water, or having a hot shower. Plan to get a lot of sleep, and plan for relaxation and twinges in your muscles will not seem as bad. Muscles thrive on exercise, so it won’t be very long before your muscles feel toned and trim – and all these problems will be a thing of the past
Other problems that you might encounter are that you haven’t eaten much food all day and feel that you need food to exercise, and eating just before exercise is not a good thing to do. Your circulation is diverted to your digestive system to assist the processing of the food, meaning that your general circulation is not ready for exercise, and this can lead to you feeling nauseous or having muscle cramps.
You need to leave some time before eating and doing your exercise.
Some people worry that the exercise they do will make them feel ravenously hungry so that it will be harder to maintain a diet of mainly low calorie food. The benefits of exercise are to stimulate your digestion, but doing some exercise rarely leads to an increase in appetite if you are already enjoying your food. In fact, regular exercise helps pass food more quickly through your digestive tract, so it has less time to absorb excess food. If you should feel hungry between scheduled meals, then snacking on fruit or vegetables will do your diet no harm. And one more thing in this tale of woe, before you start to exercise, make sure that you go to the loo, man was never designed to exercise when his bladder is full.
