A Quick Look at Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

May 31, 2009

The cavity that exists between your first rib and your clavicle is filled with nerves, veins, and muscle. When any of them become compressed, a condition called thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) can develop. Once diagnosed, doctors can recommend physical therapy or measures that can help relieve the discomfort. If the affliction is severe or the initial rehabilitation measures are ineffective, surgery may be recommended as the next step.

This article will provide an overview of thoracic outlet syndrome. We’ll describe the symptoms that patients may notice as the condition advances. We’ll also explore the different forms of the affliction and its potential causes. Finally, we’ll explain how doctors diagnose the disorder. Remember is you experience or see any of the symptoms describe here it is advised that you seek professional medical attention as soon as possible. Annual medical check-ups are necessary for your overall health diagnosis and well being.

Types, Symptoms, And Possible Causes

There are three variations of the condition, including neurogenic, vascular, and nonspecific-type. It’s worth noting that many professionals within the medical community question whether nonspecific-type thoracic outlet syndrome truly exists.

Neurogenic TOS accounts for a large majority of cases. This subtype affects the brachial plexus and compresses the spinal nerves. As a result, you might feel a tingling or aching sensation in your fingers. You may also notice a persistent pain between your shoulder and the base of your neck.

Vascular TOS occurs when the arteries or veins that run underneath your collarbone are compressed. When this happens, you might notice your hands turning blue as the blood flow becomes restricted. Blood clots can also develop, leading to a painful swelling in your arms.

Nonspecific-type TOS is harder to pinpoint (which is one of the reasons why doctors are often hesitant to diagnose it). Patients will complain of a persistent pain within the thoracic cavity, but the cause cannot be identified.

All forms of TOS are the result of compression and can manifest from the same causes. For example, some patients are born with congenital defects. Others may be involved in an event which can cause trauma to the affected area (i.e. traffic collision). Still others may suffer from long-term posture problems. Each of these can compress the veins, blood vessels, and nerves under the collarbone.

Diagnosing The Issue

Because thoracic outlet syndrome impacts each patient differently, doctors often find it hard to diagnose the condition. He or she will normally look for physical symptoms, such as a loss of color in your arms, loss of grip strength, or restricted arm mobility. Your doctor may also inquire about the type of work involved in your job since TOS is often linked to repetitive activities. He or she may also attempt to trigger the symptoms by using a series of provocation tests.

Thoracic outlet syndrome is a disorder with symptoms that becomes more severe with time. If you observe any of the warning signs described above, make an appointment with your doctor.

In Virginia finding the right doctor for thoracic surgery or Virginia thoracic surgeon is crucial. Find the thoracic surgeons specialists.

Stop Hand Sweating

May 31, 2009

I went through so much of my life, self-conscious to ever shake hands or give high fives. My wet, slimy, sweaty palms held me back through so many social interactions. It’s really hard to believe it took me so long to finally find the natural treatments that ended this problem for me.

Anyway, I DID it! And now, life has really completely changed for me. I know that sounds a bit exaggerated but - truly - not having sweaty hands anymore has changed my life!

If you’re suffering from sweating hands, I totally empathize. I’ve been there and it’s pretty miserable. The good news, however, is that I’m about to give you some great natural treatments to remedy your problem and get you results FAST! Let’s get to it shall we?

Here, I’ll be showing you the three sweaty palm treatments that relieved the sweat from my hands and gave me my confidence back. You’re going to love not feeling self conscious anymore after your hands start staying dry for days on end without even a hint of perspiration.

Drysol - This powerful, prescription strength anti-perspirant packs a big punch. You’ll want to speak with your dermatologist to get a prescription for Drysol. Once you pick it up from your pharmacy, read the directions carefully. It’s a super strong topical deodorant that you put on once at night. Apply it to your palms and let it air dry before bedtime.

Now, a word of caution here. Drysol is VERY strong. If you use it for days on end, you may experience some stinging or irritation. If that’s the case, simply spread out the days that you apply this topical.

Baking Soda & Water - This is a simple yet effective remedy to sweaty hands. Get a nice big plastic bowl and fill it with water. Add a generous amount of baking soda until the water resembles a cloudy mix. Soak your hands in the solution for 15-20 minutes. Do this for a few days in a row and you’ll notice a significant different.

Here’s how it works. Baking soda is an alkaline whereas, sweat is an acid. When your palm sweat mixes with the baking soda residue, it turns to gas and instantly evaporates. This amazing combination will keep your hands dry consistently after repeating this treatment consecutively for a few days.

Sage Tea - Sage Tea contains high levels of Tannic Acid, a natural astringent. Fill a big bowl with water and add 4 or 5 tea bags (sage tea is preferred). Do this for a few days and you’ll condition your skin not to sweat. This totally works, so you should try it out. Do the soak for about 20 minutes at a time.

Your skin may be a bit tanned after you take it out of the Sage Tea solution. Don’t freak out. It’ll wash away with a little soap and water.

This is just the beginning. If you REALLY want to end your excessive hand sweating in a matter of days, you absolutely NEED to check out the FREE Sweat Tactics Video on http://www.Prevent-Sweating.com. Remember, the fastest way to end you palms sweating is to take action. Start right now!

3 Proven Treatments To Stop Armpit Sweating

May 31, 2009

If you’re ready to finally put a stop to your relentless armpit sweating, then this article has some VERY effective treatments for you. I know what it’s like to have terrible pit sweat. I remember at its worst, I’d be wearing two undershirts stacked together underneath my dress shirts to work and STILL, the sweat stains soaked through. I’m happy to say I finally put my problem to rest using a combination of the treatments you’re about to learn here. You will too if you take action after reading. Let’s do it!

Now if your armpit sweating problem is as bad as mine was, you’re probably at this point reacting to the problem as opposed to taking action to prevent the problem. Let me explain…

Maybe you feel the sweat coming on and you excuse yourself to the nearest bathroom to pat your armpits dry with a paper towel or reapply another layer of deodorant. You might wear heavy clothes or layers to hide the pits stains. Or, perhaps you actually use garment pads to soak up the sweat when it occurs.

The treatments below take a more proactive approach. You’re going to learn how to condition your skin to sweat less, rather than learn how to block the sweat or hide the sweat better. These are long term cures that work cumulatively over time, so try them all out consistently for a week before experiencing the optimal results.

With that said, here’s the first treatment…

The Apple Vinegar Remedy - at night, apply apple vinegar or any other malt vinegar to your armpits. If you have armpit hair, trim it to a very short length. Let the apple vinegar air dry. It will saturate your armpit’s sweat pores, neutralizing odor causing bacteria and creating a drying effect.

Apple vinegar has astringent properties. It will condition your armpits to stay dry and sweat less overall. In the morning, just wash your armpits with soap and water as you normally would. The acid in the vinegar will be absorbed by your armpits overnight and protect you from sweating all day long.

The Baking Soda Treatment - Used in combination with a deodorant that’s high in aluminum chloride, baking soda could be your missing piece to the puzzle. It works as follows…

Baking soda is an alkaline and your body’s sweat is an acid. When the two mix, they create gas and the sweat is instantly evaporated. So it conditions your sweat to just dry up super fast. Here’s what you do. Mix a generous amount of baking soda with water until you have a thick paste. Paste the baking soda onto your armpits (if they’re clean shaven, this works best) and then sit with the treatment for 25 minutes. Afterwards, just wash off with water.

Do this for several days in a row and you’ll notice a HUGE difference. Now, your armpits might feel kind of rubbery after you wash off the baking soda. This is totally normal and I’m sure you’ll agree that rubbery feeling armpit skin is way better that sweat dripping, slime pits - ewww! :)

Botox - Botox injections are a surefire way to stop the excessive armpit sweating but it does come with a high price tag. Treatments can range anywhere from $700 - $1400 depending on how many places on the body you want to cure. Also, results aren’t permanent. They do last a while though.

Most people report that Botox stops the excessive sweating for about 6 months. So, if your severe armpit sweat is impacting your life that much (I know mine was pretty bad) and you have the extra money, Botox might be a realistic alternative for you.

Before you go running to the bank though to take out money for Botox, I want to save you some green. Afterall, we can all use some savings where we can these days. I’ve posted my top 12 favorite excessive sweating treatments on my site http://www.Prevent-Sweating.com in a video called Sweat Free Tactics. The video is totally FREE and you can check it out right now on the site to learn a TON of other effective ways (many of them natural) to stop excessive armpit sweating for good. Additionally, the video shows you how to stop hand sweating, face sweating, feet sweating and yes, of course, how to stop armpit sweating. 3 Easy Ways To Stop Facial Sweating

May 31, 2009

Facial sweating can seem like one of the most difficult places on the body to treat. I should know, I suffered with it for a long time. It’s the most noticeable form of excessive sweating and the situation can make you feel pretty helpless. Your face is right there, out in the open, dripping with uncontrollable perspiration and no matter how many times you dab it away with a handkerchief, those embarrassing beads of sweat pop back up again.

Listen, I know what it’s like. I’ve been in your shoes. But, I’m happy to tell you that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. Relief is on the way with the 3 effective facial sweating treatments I’m about to reveal to you. So, pay attention because these little sweat solutions are going to stop the face faucets for good!

Before we get started though, I just want to emphasize that with any of these treatments, you want to always watch out for irritation on your face. Even though these treatments are gentle, everyone’s body chemistry is different.

Also, as I’m sure you already know, you can’t just roll a strong deodorant onto your face (yes, like a fool, I tried it once). You’d completely break out in a rash, hives, dry patches and who knows what else. Plus, having deodorant residue on your face isn’t the most appealing look. For this reason, I’ve listed gentle, proven remedies below, that will start giving your results within minutes after application.

Let’s start with the first treatment!

1. Witch Hazel - Witch hazel extract can be bought at most health food stores, drugstores or grocery stores. It’s derived from the plant’s bark, twigs and leaves. I was totally unfamiliar with witch hazel when I first learned of this facial sweating remedy but let me tell you - it works wonders! Witch hazel has natural astringent properties so it gently dries the skin and also inhibits inflammation. It dries up oily skin, reduces the appearance of pores and acts as a natural antiperspirant for you face. You NEED to try this.

What I love most about witch hazel is how mild it is on the skin. I actually reduces redness because of its anti-inflammatory properties! Start with a thin application layer and fall in love with this natural remedy for facial sweating.

2. Aloe Vera Juice - This is a more watered down version of the popular aloe vera sold as a moisturizer. When applied to the skin, aloe vera has a nice cooling effect. This makes it particularly useful during warmer seasons like summer or spring. However, if your excessive sweating is triggered not by temperature but by hyperhidrosis (a condition of excessive sweating not matter what temperature it is), you may find your results to be more short term.

I suffered from hyperhidrosis which is why this treatment was just a bit less effective for me. That said, I’ve used aloe vera for my facial sweating before and I want to give you my completely honest review. Aloe vera works great as a temporary fix (prevents sweating for about 2 or 3 hours). My conclusion? If you have a hot date or an upcoming business meeting and you need to keep your complexion dry, aloe vera is a great quick fix.

3. Maxim Facial Wipes - Last but certainly not least is a sure fire winner. Maxim Facial Wipes are deodorant wipes made especially for facial sweating. Although, I’m not sure what chemicals inhibit the sweating, they act as a wonderful astringent for your face sweat and really keep you dry.

The wipes are made by a company in the UK. I’m sure you can find them online if you just search around a bit. Anyhow, try the natural treatments listed above first. They’re cheaper, proven and don’t require a dependency on a specific manufacturer. If they fail to do the job for you, it’s time to give the Maxim Wipes a shot.

This is just the beginning. I have so many more tips for you on how to stop excessive sweating! If you want to check out the FREE Video I’ve posted on my 12 favorite Sweat Fighting Tactics, you NEED to check out http://www.Prevent-Sweating.com. Start now and end excessive sweating for good!

3 Amazing Ways To Cure Sweaty Feet

May 31, 2009

Ready to cure your nasty foot sweating problem? Looking for a way to stop the wetness and odor quickly AND conveniently? Easy enough! Just follow my 3 simple sweaty feet cures below and you’ll be well on your way.

I know what you’re going through…and it stinks! Yeah, pun intended - sorry :)

The good news is, you’re not alone. Having sweaty feet is a pretty common complaint among most people. I certainly dealt with it on a daily basis. If you’re anything like I was, it can be such a nerve racking experience having to take your shoes off in front of someone else. You pray they don’t stink or worse off, the person will see the sweat stains soaking through your socks - yikes!

This is getting a little personal here but before I give you these three amazing treatments, I have to let you know one of my most embarrassing sweaty foot stories. I was in college and went on a date with this girl. Anyway, things were going pretty great and after dinner, we went back to her apartment to cuddle up a bit. When I got through the door she said the place was just cleaned and asked me to take my shoes off. Already, I was getting a little nervous.

I remember she had this dark tile kitchen floor and as I walked across it, I left damp foggy foot tracks. She looked put off by the sight of my sweat tracks immediately.

Things got a little awkward after that and I never heard from her again. Now, I don’t know if things didn’t work out because of my sweaty feet, but I’m sure it didn’t add to my allure at the time.

So look, whatever reason YOU have to stop your foot sweating, it really couldn’t be any easier once you know the simple home remedies that get results super FAST. I’m talking, within hours.

Let’s get started with the first treatment.

Vinegar Foot Baths - Mix together 1/2 cup vinegar and a quart of very warm water in a basin. Soak your feet for 25 minutes. Then, dry your feet well - make sure you don’t forget the spaces in between your toes. Don’t rinse your feet. Let the vinegar really saturate your pores.

Not only does the vinegar act as an astringent, It exfoliates a thin top layer of your foot skin. You’ll experience dryness for hours after this soak. Plus, the acid in the vinegar neutralizes odor causing bacteria deep in your feet. Some people like using apple cider vinegar for this treatment. However, for foot sweating, I prefer white vinegar. It’s stronger and works faster.

As a side benefit, vinegar also inhibits fungal growth so you’ll protect your toenails from fungus and clear up common problems like athletes foot.

Salt Water Soak - Simple? Yes. Effective? Ohhh Yes. Don’t underestimate the power of a salt water soak on your feet. The salt will dry them right up and if you use Epsom salts, you’ll have soft dry skin as well.

Exfoliating with a loofah before soaking your feet in salt water makes results faster AND longer lasting. You also want to make sure you use warm water to open up your skin’s pores and allow maximum exposure to the salt.

Be careful if you have any open cuts or sores on your feet. This will burn if you have any open abrasions.

Sage Tea - I saved the best for last. Sage tea contains super high levels of Tannic Acid which is a natural astringent. Add 4 or 5 bags of sage tea into a large basin of hot water and let it steep until the tea is fully dissolved. Then soak your feet for 25 minutes.

The tea will work its way into your foot pores and go to work, drying them up and neutralizing odor causing bacteria. Sage tea is VERY powerful as a long-term foot odor cure. Try this tonight and fall in love with the results.

Just a heads up - after you take your feet out of the basin, they’ll be a little tanned from the tea. Don’t freak out, the tanned color washes right off with a little soap and water.

This is just the beginning. I’ve posted my top 12 favorite sweating treatments at http://www.Prevent-Sweating.com. They’re all listed step by step in a video I created called Sweat Free Tactics. It’s totally free and the content is incredibly helpful for ANYONE with any kind of excessive sweating problem. How To Stop Excessive Head Sweating

May 31, 2009

It’s just about one of the more embarrassing disorders you can have. Excessive head and face sweating is as noticeable as the broad side of a barn. It’s out in the open for everyone to look at. I should know. I was a victim of hyperhidrosis for years. But I found a solution and I’m about to pass it on to you. After all, no one should suffer from such a trivial inconvenience as excessive head sweating. Let’s cure you of this problem right away!

I worked in a busy office building and of course with my problem, it turned out to be a very sociable place. I’d get stopped in the hallways all the time with co-workers making chit-chat or just asking round about questions. All the while my face and head would gleam with unsightly perspiration.

I carried around tissues and would wash my face in the bathroom constantly. Deodorants were no help and skin creams would clog my pores and only plug up the problem, giving me terrible rashes.

I used to try tea leaf tanning solutions, but they would dye my face and it was even more ridiculous. Nothing seemed to work. I suffered from hyperhidrosis, a gland disorder, that caused my sweat glands to work on overdrive no matter what the situation.

Really, the problem was so bad, my work began to suffer. My own self consciousness held me back and caused me to stay quiet in meetings and hold back suggestions. I wouldn’t want to draw any more attention to myself and it became a crippling disorder.

Once I realized that my excessive head sweating was holding me back from dating, I had to act on it. My work was bad enough, but now I couldn’t even meet someone? I don’t think so.

The key to unlocking my head sweating was learning the natural triggers to my hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) condition.

Foods that I was eating were one cause. My ingestion of garlic and spices contributed to a significant part of my “after lunch” head sweating sessions.

Additionally, I wasn’t taking advantage of specific sweat wipes that are gently applied to the face to prevent the perspiration. These worked like a charm.

Thirdly, I didn’t know the specific mental exercises to calming down my anxiety which caused the sweating to continue perpetually and profusely.

And those are just three tiny little things that I didn’t know which made a huge difference. But really, this is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s going to take some effort on your part to overcome this problem. You’re going to need the knowledge to stop excessive head sweating.

Knowledge really IS power and I’ll be providing you with more than enough at http://www.Prevent-Sweating.com. After using the natural methods listed on the site to prevent sweating, I can finally live life without the self consciousness I once knew. And YOU will too! Start right by going to the site and implementing these stop sweating tips.

4 Powerful Herbal Remedies For Sweating

May 31, 2009

Today, I’ve got some exciting new for you. You’re about to learn 4 little known herbal remedies for sweating that are sure to alleviate the perspiration where all other deodorants and treatments have failed.

When I first found these 4 herbal remedies for sweating and started implementing them, the effects were nearly instantaneous. Within the first hour (one of them within just minutes) the sweating was stifled and I was dry throughout the day.

Fortunately, for you, if you’ve been searching endlessly for a way to stop YOUR excessive sweating, you’ve stumbled upon the Holy Grail. Here, I’ll be teaching you about these easy to use herbal treatments. I’ll show you where to get them, how to use them and then after that…

Well, after that, all you need to do is take action and try them out. Let’s get started and

stop your pouring perspiration!

First, let me just give you a quick background about myself…

My excessive sweating plagued me through MOST of my life. It wasn’t until a little over 5 years ago that I really started getting a handle on it. It took some time though.

During the long 20+ year battle with sweating, I was looking for ANY possible solution out there. I mean, granted, due to my lack of knowledge at the time, I wasn’t familiar with half of the alternatives available so most of my efforts were just repeated on treatments that didn’t work the first time around anyway.

In later years, I’d spend hours surfing the net, looking for that ONE rare alternative that had escaped me. I used to just pray that at any moment I’d find it. And then…it happened.

When it came to dealing with my excessive sweating, I always thought traditional medicine was the best way. And by the way, when I say medicine, I’m talking about prescription deodorants like Drysol, Certain Dri, prescription drugs like Robinol or the like.

I was always afraid to try prescriptions though because of the awful side effects (cotton mouth, overheating, irritation, headaches, etc.). Clinical and prescription deodorants did give me some relief but again, they irritated my skin and I was never fond of the idea that I’d need to use them continuously throughout my life.

So one day, I learned about the 4 herbal remedies for sweating that aided in the elimination of my hyperhidrosis and they are listed for you here. You can pick up all of them at most organic markets, drug stores or health food stores.

So, let’s start with the first one, witch hazel…

1. Witch Hazel - The bark and leaves of the witch hazel plant are extracted into a powerful astringent which can be applied in liquid form to the skin. If you look closely at the ingredients of many aftershaves and lotions, you may find witch hazel to be one of the components.

Traditionally, the herb was used to treat insect bites and even bruises but over the years it was discovered to eliminate sweating as well.

Witch Hazel will be especially effective for you if have facial sweating. This was where this herb REALLY came in and saved the day for me. Facial sweating, after all, is super hard to hide. It’s out in the open and you can only dab it with a handkerchief so many times before you start to lose your mind.

You also can’t just roll a deodorant onto your face so this is where witch hazel really comes in handy. Using a cotton ball, apply a thin layer of the witch hazel oil to your face and watch its astringent properties go to work. Your skin may initially get a little dry as it dissolves all the oil on your skin but later, as it goes to work, you’ll find that those beads of perspiration you get on your face won’t make their daily visit.

Of course, witch hazel can be applied to more places on your skin than just your face. Personally though, I found this herbal remedy most effective for my facial sweating.

2. Burdock - this herb safely manages excessive sweating by eliminating excessive fluids through other means rather than the sweat pores. It redirects sweating fluids through the lymph nodes, kidneys and bowels instead.

Here’s a little warning about burdock. It’s pretty nasty to have as a tea. Burdock is BITTER. Once sip of burdock tea and you’ll be puckering your lips in a grimace for sure.

So, what do you do? Well, you can take it as a “tincture”. What’s a tincture? It’s a fancy word for an alcoholic extract. Most health food stores sell burdock in this form so it’s easy enough to pick up. Burdock works from the inside out. Take this extract for a few days and you’ll notice the difference for sure.

3. Astragalus - This herb, native to northeast China, has mild diuretic properties and plays a role in balancing your sweat response. Here’s the only problem with it. Depending on your specific sweat problem, it can decrease or even possibly increase your sweating. You’ll need to test it out to see for yourself. Astragalus has a mild, sweet taste, making it a suitable choice for tea. You can also dissolve it in your favorite drink. Its active compounds are the flavonoids that give its roots and flowers their yellow color. Give this a shot and see what you come up with.

4. Tea Tree Oil - this one is exceptionally effective for foot sweating. Plus, it’s additionally an antifungal so if you’ve got foot fungus, tea tree oil will knock that out as well.

Just apply a thin layer to your hands and feet to mitigate the sweating. The oil has astringent properties which will dry out the skin. Start with just a little bit to determine how much you’ll need.

As with any topical, you’ll want to be on the lookout for irritation and discontinue use if you notice any. Most people find tea tree oil to be the gentlest of the herbal remedies mentioned here.

This is just the beginning. Yes, I want you to try these 4 herbal remedies to end your excessive sweating but I don’t want you to just stop there.

I’ve created a 30 minute long video giving you the top 12 sweat stopping treatments that I’ve stacked together to PERMANENTLY end my own sweating problem and I know if you follow them too, you’ll find the same success.

How to Lose Belly Fat Fast - Find Out Today

May 31, 2009

If you’re having a difficult time losing weight despite adhering to various diet fads religiously and piously, then there must be something wrong with either your dietary and exercise regimen or the kind of lifestyle you lead.

You may be experiencing a frustrating journey towards achieving that most coveted and longed-for body, but do you know the secret to lose belly fat fast? It’s determination! Easier said than done, but in order to rip off belly fats in the mid section, one should primarily decide to stop being fat. If you can say this line, “Today, I decided to stop being fat” to yourself with the determination to act now, a possibility of achieving your goal is possible.

With the right dose of determination and complete adherence to the following guidelines on how to lose belly fat fast, you’ll certainly be on your way to a great body (curvaceous and hour-glass body for women and rock hard abs for men) in no time.

So, if you’re serious of getting that dream body once and for all, let’s get started and burn those belly fats away!

Tip # 1 Know what you’re sipping

You probably know by now that you need to cautiously watch what you eat, but are you guardedly watching what you sip? With the advent of a lot of fresh fruit juices in can, you can’t really be sure if you’re still drinking it fresh. In most cases, sugar are generally added to these fruit juices, so you’re only giving yourself empty calories from the sweet taste that comes along with these so called “fresh juices in can”. Apart from this, carbonated drinks, alcohol, caffeine sips and even energy drinks are also tagged as beverages with high sugar content. Given this, a person who is aiming to lose significant amounts of fat in the belly region should predominantly steer clear of these said beverages.

Tip # 2 Get up and move

You may think that sit-ups and crunches will bring divine intervention in trimming your mid section. In reality, they are just a waste of time. Why? Because crunches are only meant to tone your muscles in the abdominal area and how can you tone your abs if it’s surrounded by unwanted fats?
